What Kind Of Work From Home Jobs Can I Find?

When I tell people that I work from home the first question they ask is (1) how did I do it and (2) what kind of jobs can they get if in fact they decide to do the same? Let’s face it! Most people think that most work from home jobs are scams and not legit. At one point in time, I did too until I heard about people actually doing it. I saw people on TV claiming to work from home and yes even homeowners on HGTV mentioning that they work at home. At that moment, I ran to the computer and started searching because how could these people be so lucky, while I’m stuck at a 9 to 5 and fighting traffic.

After due diligence, I had a list of potential jobs that seemed right up my alley and most importantly LEGIT and with even some major companies.

Finding Legit Work From Home Jobs
Now don’t get me wrong. You have to be careful, conduct research and check reviews on companies on sources like Glassdoor, Yelp and other company review websites. You can even conduct a good ol’ Google search with the company name plus the word “reviews” or “ratings” to see how a company fares.
Things to Consider When Looking for Work From Home Jobs
Just like any other job, you must be qualified. For some reason, some work from home job seekers think these work from home jobs require less skill or experience – well it’s not true. Matter of fact, oftentimes these work at home jobs can require higher qualifications because you are required to work independently and troubleshoot on your own.
Select jobs in your area of expertise. This kind of relates to the above; meaning just because it is a work from home job doesn’t mean you’re automatically qualified. Select a field in which you have some knowledge and experience in or at minimum have an interest in. Because you have to be self-motivated and disciplined to keep your work productivity up, you may want to spend your time doing something you like and know how to do with very little direction from a supervisor.
Make sure you have the space and equipment to complete the job. It may seem simple, but depending on the job there may be computer and phone system requirements in place to get the job and complete the job responsibilities. So look at the computer system, operating system, phone, fax and other office equipment requirements you must meet and determine if you have the necessary tools or if you are committed to investing in the equipment to get started.
Remember, if you are looking for a way to earn extra money, transition from your 9 to 5, or want to gain control over your time and finances -- be flexible! By doing so, you'll increase your chances of landing a work from home opportunity.
